Leaving behind the roles modeled by our mothers or the traditional feminine world to enter a space of achievement and independence.
Picture yourself stepping into the workplace for the first time. As a Baby Boomer, for me, this meant perhaps wearing shoulder pads, a bow-tied blouse, a girdle, and pantyhose—while striving to fit into a male-driven world.
I know what I left behind trying to fit in—my awareness of the value of the feminine voice, along with the feminine principles of creativity, intuition, and connection.
It took me two decades to turn inward and recognize the self-doubt and perfectionism I had absorbed in my efforts to conform. These patterns not only blocked my writing but also kept me from becoming the person I aspired to be. As I broke free from old constraints, I became an award-winning author of The Possibility of Everywhere and was invited to speak on global stages. The opportunities ultimately led to my work as a book mentor, especially for Sage Stage Women Writer—whether 48 or 108!

Facing the pain of separation, disconnection, burnout, or devastation. Recognizing that external success and action—without inner reflection—are hollow and insufficient for living your life, writing a story, or shaping a character’s journey.
